A refrigerated air dryer is the most commonly used. type of compressed air dryer for most plant application for the drying of plant air and other utility gases like hydrogen gas, nitrogen drying etc. where a dew point (+2) Deg. C at line pressure i.e. (-22) Deg. C at atmospheric pressure) is an acceptable norm.

In small Air capacities upto 400 NM3/hr MGS-L model is offered. It has simple and very compact design consisting of a cylindrical heat exchanger with Freon tubes. Air flows outside the tubes and gets cooled to 3°C temperature. Moisture condenses out and is drained out continuously. The out going air is at 3°C temperature with (+) 3°C Pressure Dew Point which is equivalent to approx (-) 23°C dew point at atmospheric pressure.

For larger air capacities, above 400 NM3/hr, we recommend MGS-H model. It is a skid mounted unit consisting of Air-Freon chiller, Air to Air pre-Cooler and a moisture separator. First air is precooled with outgoing chilled air to around 25°C and then it is cooled in a Freon cooler upto {+) 3°C temperature. This reduces refrigeration load of the Unit. Outgoing dry air has (+) 3°C Pressure Dew Point and comes out at around 25°C temperature. (+) 3°C Dew Point in Refrigerated Air Dryers corresponds to around (-) 23°C Atmospheric Pressure Dew Point. Still lower Dew Point is not possible from Refrigerated Dryer as moisture condensed would start freezing on Freon tubes if lower dew points are tried. (-) 23°C is the best possible Dew Point achievable from Refrigerated Air Dryers.
